MORE Time for Literacy Centers for grades 1-2 continues where Time for Literacy Centers left off with multi-levels of Reading, Writing, Word Work, and Listening Center activities which may be used equally well during your interventions.
The first section of the book is dedicated to fun practice of long vowels, digraphs, and diphthongs by reading and rapping to pseudoword/real word chants. Games are included with the chants. This section includes practice activities with the target sounds and word generation activities for mastery.
The second section of the book includes literacy skills practice in a meaningful context...super poems, raps, and chants written to entertain children as well as help them practice necessary skills. Following the poems are writing prompts which will have your students writing for many purposes in response to the reading selections.
The last section of the book includes super-fun game-like activity booklets with word games, crossword puzzles using target vowel patterns, and rhymes to write. Kids really like these practice activities because they are FUN as well as MEANINGFUL. The book has 114 pages with LOTS TO DO!
